Whisky and the Speeding Alternative

By savvyscot

This is going to be the shortest post ever, but I couldn’t wait to tell you all that I have been offered the Driver Awareness Training Course as an alternative to 3 penalty points and a £60 fine! Although this costs £85, I don’t have to face a hike in insurance costs!! 😀

I had a great weekend back home in Scotland – oh how I have missed it 🙂 – We have all been Drinking Whiskey and partying hard for the last few days! Easyjet and Flybe (budget airlines) even treated us well which was unexpected. I have discovered my new favourite Whisky –

Jura – Superstition

There is a litany of strange and bewildering customs on the isle of Jura but apparently the one regarding the ‘Ankh Cross‘ demands the greatest attention. The ancient symbol reflects Egyptian times and is long rumored to bring with it, good fortune. That is, so long as you pour the whisky in the correct manner;  by positioning the bottle with the Ankh cross in the center of your palm….

Lightly peated with hints of smoke and spice

The whisky is a concoction of Jura single malt whiskies, while this mysterious spirit has a unique style and character. I think it tastes of mild spices and honey, but apparently also has pine and peat with a whisper of smoke.

If you are a fan of single malt whiskies, this is likely to be a lot sweeter than what you are used to. It is very good!

Do any of you like Whisky? If so, what single malts have you tried and do you like them?

Congrats on the speeding ticket alternative:) A total win in my book! I don’t drink whiskey..heck I rarely drink alcohol, so I’ll leave that up to the experts.

Glad you had fun in Scotland!

Haha that is awesome that you combined the speeding ticket alternative with a whiskey feature. A true Scot lol! I like whiskey, but I’m a pansy so I usually ruin it and mix it with coke. I guess being only 1/4 Scottish isn’t enough to help with drinking alcohol on its own.

I love Jura – my absolute favourite hands down winner. Bare naked for me I’m afraid – unadulterated and gorgeous.

Love the peaty taste and how smooth it is.

So if anyone is looking for a birthday present idea LOL

PS Tried to email you but it bounced – can you ping me again hon
