I think for most jobs it’s perfectly fine to buy a suit or dress clothes that are discounted or on sale. For guys, if you need a slimmer fit it’s almost inevitable that you will have to pay for a tailor. I recently had to do that with a few things and it’s definitely been worth every dollar.

It’s very rare that we buy anything at full price. I just got Rick some polo shirts on the clearance rack for $4 each!

I always have thought that buying items of quality that last longer will actually save you money in the long run. And you don’t have to shop as much to replace items that wear out quickly.

I just go to the 70-80% off racks at Kohls. They have plenty of rewards plans, specials and gift certificates that you can receive just for buying. I never pay retail there walking out with several hundred dollars worth of clothes, often for less than $100

I have always bought really nice business clothing at second-hand stores. The good thing about that is that you can often resell it back to the store and get something else.

I’ve never purchased full price dress cloths. It just doesn’t make sense. I usually hit up the local Marshals and find everything I need there. 100 bucks for a shirt or 100 bucks for an entire outfit? The math seems pretty simple to me!

I need to ‘scrub up’ as we say around here. Problem is I really don’t like shopping. What I’ve heard people doing is that they try clothes in the shop and than order them over the internet – this saves a bit. As to low price shops – like Primark – I feel ambivalent about them. They exploit people in the third world )as do some expensive shops); then again, without this explitation the people in the third world won’t have any jobs. I still don’t shop there…

When I first started working, I would buy really nice (read: expensive) dress shirts. They would always come out of the dryer wrinkled. I bought them for the tag, which oddly enough, no one could ever see! I’ve since wised up and buy my dress shirts from department stores after the holidays and in the summer. I can get nice dress shirts for $10 a shirt and they don’t need ironing when they come out the dryer.

As an actress, this is my life. Luckily, I am queen of hand me downs. People give me their barely worn clothes ALL the time. And I’m talking NICE stuff. I haven’t bought anything in a while.

I wear scrubs all day which makes buying clothes for worl easy but it also means my wardobe as a whole suffers! I need to make time to buy some good pieces.

My spouse buys some shirts online and has had mixed success, some have needed tailoring once they arrived, but two have been very good fits.
We have had a lot of success (perhaps a lot of expense is a better way to put it?) at an outlet store lately. We even picked up $125 dress shirts for $17.50 recently!
