I definitely gained a few – actually several – over the winter, starting with Christmas festivities. But it’s only now that spring is here that it really bothers me and I’m finally doing something about it. I’m saying “No” to those delicious fattening foods I love and doing something fitness related every day. It’s good to be, as you say, “back on track” : )

I have slimmed down a little bit since winter, and my strategy was a simple one. I simply ate less, didn’t eat after dinner, and started going on longer walks than usual!

This is the easiest time of year to get back in shape, finally warm enough but not too hot. In addition to my usual running route, I stop in the park to do abs, push ups, and squats and I’m biking EVERYWHERE!

LOVE that picture, Pauline! Hilarious. 🙂 I’m in that slimming down after winter stage. Eating less, eating more whole foods, cutting back on the white flour/sugar/processed foods, and exercise. Not always fun, but it works, and I don’t want to be stuffing myself into my swimsuit at the beach this summer. 🙂

I’ve started attending more classes at my gym in the last few months. I tend to get better exercise when there is an instructor motivating me to work harder! It’s so great now that the weather is nicer because we’ve been able to get outside more as well.

I was lazy during the winter, but now that the warm weather is here, I’ve been outside running or riding my bike almost daily. Now that I am more active, I immediately start eating healthier too. It’s funny how that works – when I am not active, I eat junk food, but when I am active, I crave healthy food.
