Today is Day 1 of the 14 week fitness challenge. There are already 7 participants including myself:
- Elizabeth (Broke Elizabeth)
- Kris (Balancing Money and Life)
- Nick (Step Away from the Mall)
- Crystal (Budgeting in the Fun Stuff)
- Khaleef (Fat Guy, Skinny Wallet)
- Paul (Make Money, Make Cents)
You can see their individual goals in the Comments of my last post – would highly recommend that you check them out! Some pretty ambitious goals there, including 50 workouts in 14 weeks and running more than 14 miles a week!
To avoid inundating everyone with updates, I have created a diary page for challenge updates. Feel free to comment and add in your own progress, but the idea of the challenge is that everyone will create a similar page on their own blogs and record their own progress.
I will include today’s summary in this post:
Day 1 – Monday 5th March 2012
The first day went really well. I refrained from purchasing any fizzy drinks or sweets. I had wholemeal bread and poached eggs for breakfast at work with a coffee (skinny latte). I had a brown baguette sandwich for lunch with ham and roasted vegetables. My new Bobble water bottle was a GREAT SUCCESS (in Borat voice) – I drank 2L of water throughout the day. I ate Lamb with vegetables and rice for dinner with some diluting fruit squash.
Starting off the way I mean to go, I made a point of gymming it today too. 20 minutes of 10% incline (fast) walking – preparing for my summer challenge and providing a good cardio workout. Press-ups 3×20, sit ups, leg raises and incline dumbbell bench press.
Feeling pretty good now and plan to drink more water before bed. Oh and also maybe a little bit of pudding (don’t want to make this challenge unrealistic 😉 )
