People Got Me Questioning – Where is the LOVE?

It’s been another mad few weeks at SavvyScot HQ. I spent the weekend in central London – dining in Chinatown and visiting the Olympic Stadium. It is sad that the whole place looks like a ghost town! We also got tickets to see the Lion King in the West End which was absolutely incredible! With all this fun, I have been very bad at returning all the link love! Fear not… here is some Kudos to all you good people!

I also launched the SavvyScot Monthly Newsletter this week. If you are curious to find out my passive income streams and particularly how much money I am making and how (or you are just plain nosey)…. this is probably for you. Sign up HERE.

Summary of Stats at SavvyScot:

  • Average number of hits per day – 250. This has been pretty consistent over the last few weeks. I think it is going to take some time and more quality articles to boost this!
  • Alexa Rank – Currently at 105k! ALMOST getting to the sub-six-figure mark!
  • Sterling Effort UK Blog Rank9th
  • Facebook Likes – currently at 777 (a whopping 100 increase over the last 3 weeks). SS Facebook Friend page – 388 friends.
  • Twitter Followers – 26.5k
  • Subscribers – 159 - A huge increase over the last few weeks!

I am relatively pleased with the steady growth I am experiencing. Giveaways have helped to grow my social media presence and my Alexa ranking keeps falling slowly. I don’t really have any objectives as such, but have recently vowed to rediscover the reasons why I started SavvyScot 9 months ago; which was not to make money. That said, I will no longer be accepting mediocre written guest posts. I feel this just degrades the overall quality of the blog. Thoughts?

  1. Thanks for the link love! I’ve never been to London but have always wanted to go. I picture myself in some cozy little pub enjoying a pint. I do that with Ireland and Scotland too. ha ha! Maybe that’s a cliche? :)

  2. Thanks so much! This is only the second time ever a pingback has worked properly for me! (Except for spam ones… they work extremely well)

  3. Aw thanks for mentions! Wow, 26.5k twitter followers? How did you manage that? I’m so slow and way behind on social aspects of my own blog. Would love to hear some tips on this.

I think you’re making the right decision to allow only quality guest posts on your blog. I’ve been contacted by several guest posters who want to place junk on my blog, I had to politely decline their offers. One was very persistent though, so I left him with something to think about :) hahaha.

  4. They were just building all the Olympic stadium when I left the UK and you are right ashame it’s now empty. Now what? Great idea with the newsletter, I’ll sign up to be nosey and the opportunity to be behind the scenes and see what funnels down from Savy Scot HQ lol.. awesome mate. Cheers and have a great day! Mr.CBB

  5. Thank you for including me! Your site seems to be growing quite nicely!

  6. Thanks so much for the mention sir! Great work on the numbers as well. Looks like the guest posters are making their rounds because I have been inundated with them the last few weeks…especially after the PR update. My wife has been a professional writer for 10 years, so if it doesn’t pass her standards, then it’s a no go in my books. I’ve worked to hard to let half-assed writing/ideas tarnish it. I think I’ll join up along with Mr. CBB because I am just nosy like that. :)

    • Pleasure as always dude :) Some of these guest-posters are ridiculous!!! I had a great argument with one today – I am glad you have a great proof reader there for you – must be incredibly handy! Glad you are on board… feeling the pressure now with all the great bloggers who have signed up!

  7. Thanks for the link love! How in the world did you get so many twitter followers; that’s incredible!

    I subscribed to your newsletter…just because I’m nosey. :)

  8. Savvy, those are awesome stats my friend. I hope I can come close to those when my blog is nine months old. Signing up for the newsletter asap. Congrats

  9. Hey thanks for mentioning me! Kudos on the awesome stats in just nine months.

  10. Wow your stats are amazing! How did you get your Facebook and Twitter so high?

  11. Thanks for the mention and congrats on your social media success. 26k followers on twitter is great. Facebook and Twitter are two aspects of my site that I really need to work on.
I signed up for your newsletter. Really curious to see what gems the first one will hold.

  12. 159 subscribers seems really good to me. My blog is still really new, but I can already tell how hard it is to get people to subscribe. I’m one of the 159:-) Came to this post from my reader.

  13. Thanks for the mention. Looking forward to your newsletter.

  14. Thanks so much for the mention!!! I hope you are having a great week! What time zone are you in over there?

  15. Really appreciate the mention! 250/day is very solid – I have been averaging just under 200. I would love to be consistently above 200, but I also feel like I need to build up my email subscribers + facebook likes + twitter follows to pad that stat. I have 250+ facebook likes, but would really like to get over the 1k mark.

  16. Congrats on the stats. Those twitter followers are quite impressive. I think you are doing great. Keep it up and you will continue to grow. I have been at this three years and I am still waiting for certain increases. It comes in time.

  17. Well done on the growth of your site – as a fellow money saving scot and blogger I’ve been reading with great interest over the last few months! Hope I make it onto your list some day!

  18. Thanks for the link love! I’d love to see The Lion King! I’ve heard the show is amazing.

  19. Thanks for sharing the love! Always looking for new blogs to read!
